Assistant Accountant

Requirements

Main Duties/Activities


The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:


  •  Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts with variance analysis on a timely basis

  • Assist with the month end close processes on company ERP system which will include journal preparation, intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly project Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR’s)

  • Assist with Year-end close and audit preparation

  • Assist with the annual audit process

  • Assist with quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting processes

  • Be responsible for the preparation of Bimonthly VAT returns for review

  • Assist the travel department with PO creation and Supplier invoice reconciliation.

  • Provide support for the day-to-day financial operations

  • Provide support as required to the wider finance team

  • Work closely with the Finance and wider company team to ensure sound financial controls exist within the company

  • Occasional travel and working off site in accordance with the roles commercial functionality

 

 

Essential Criteria


  • Part qualified and working towards full qualification with a recognised accountancy body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

  • Minimum of 1 years’, hands on, industry experience in a similar role

  • Proficient in accounting software

  • Advanced MS Excel skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and commitment to tasks

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment and to tight deadlines

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Strong personal integrity

  • Confident, enthusiastic and personable approach to working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels

 

Desirable criteria


  • Accounting Technician qualification

  • ERP experience

  • Microsoft D365 F&O
