MMAW/SMAW Welding (Method 111): Welding various materials (primarily steel) using the MMAW/SMAW method, ensuring strong and clean welds in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).

Electrode Selection and Welding Parameters:

Selecting appropriate electrodes and setting the correct welding parameters (current and voltage) based on the material type and thickness to ensure optimal strength and quality of welds. Drawing and Specification Interpretation: Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings, welding symbols, and job specifications to determine welding requirements and ensure compliance with project needs.

Quality Control and Inspection:

Inspecting completed welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete welds. Using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, gauges) to verify dimensions and ensure weld integrity.

Compliance with Safety Standards:

Complying with all occupational health and safety regulations, including the proper use of protective clothing (PPE) and fire prevention practices. Maintaining a safe work environment by following arc welding guidelines.

Equipment Maintenance and Operation:

Maintaining and maintaining welding equipment, tools, and accessories, ensuring they are in good working order. Perform basic diagnostics and repairs as needed. Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively within a team to meet production goals and deadlines. Communicate with supervisors, project managers, and other team members regarding project status and any issues.

Technical Expertise:

Proven manual arc welding skills (MMAW/SMAW, Method 111), particularly in welding steel and other metals, in all welding positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead). Knowledge of electrode selection and the ability to adjust welding parameters (amperage, voltage) depending on the type and thickness of the material.

Certifications:

Appropriate welding certifications (e.g., ISO 9606, AWS D1.1) for MMAW/SMAW. Additional certifications in specialized fields (e.g., structural welding) would be a significant asset. Certificate of social security legislation applicable to the eligible individual.

Experience:

2-5 years of welding experience in industrial or construction environments, with a proven ability to produce strong, durable welds with minimal defects. Drawing and Specification Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and design specifications.

Quality Control:

Ability to inspect welds for defects and use basic measurement tools to ensure weld quality and compliance with standards.

Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations:

A strong understanding of arc welding safety principles, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), fire protection, and general workplace safety principles.

Attention to Detail and Physical Dexterity:

Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on precision and consistency in welding. Good physical abilities and manual dexterity, allowing for welding in various positions and conditions.

Desired Qualities:

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues during welding processes. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and within a team, while maintaining high quality standards.
